In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch–a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood–or else she might be next.
Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, the Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive—this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood.
This book was much better than „The Golden Lily” but I still didn’t change my opinion about Sydney. She is still a little stupid in my opinion because she is too obedient. She has broken some rules in this book, but she was afraid to. I’m glad that she is finally with Adrian, but it took so long! Adrian told her he loves her, but she just rejected him, even she feels the same way. She is too worried about the others and she is too worried about Jill.
Sydney should be, in my opinion, more reckless and she should be with Adrian just because. She shouldn’t care about the Alchemists and their rules and I’m glad she don’t have trust in them anymore. She should put her love on the first place and then the other things.
She makes spells now and I’m pretty impressed that she beat that witch and saved her and Adrian from death. She shouldn’t fear magic because is a part from her and it’s helping her.
Now (again) about Sydney and Adrian, I’m so, so happy they have kissed! And they are together, but I know I’ll be sad when I’ll read „The Fiery Heart”, even if it’s in both, Sydney and Adrian’s POV.
But until then, this book receives from me 5/5 stars!
And this is Adrian’s tattoo from his T-shirt:
And he named his car ‘the Ivashkinator’ and a little quote:
Maybe,” I said reluctantly. „But each time you use spirit, you’re more likely to go crazy.”
„Already crazy about you, Sage.”
